IPTV Parental Controls: How to Set Up PIN Protection and Kid Profiles
Create kid-safe profiles with category allowlists and PIN protection. Block adult channels and restrict content by profile.
TVLok uses a Netflix-style profile system. Each profile can have its own PIN, and kid profiles only see content from categories you explicitly allow.
Creating a Kid Profile
From the Who is watching? screen, select Add profile. Enter a name, choose an avatar, and toggle Kids profile on.

Setting Allowed Categories
After creating the kid profile, go to Settings → Parental Controls. Here you can select which channel categories the kid profile is allowed to see. Only channels from these categories will appear when the kid is signed in.

PIN-Protecting Adult Profiles
To prevent kids from switching to an adult profile, add a PIN. Go to Manage profiles, select an adult profile, and set a 4-6 digit PIN. The profile will show a lock icon on the picker screen.

What Kids See
- Only channels from allowed categories in Live TV
- Only movies and shows from allowed categories on Home
- No access to Settings or Add Source
- No ability to switch profiles without a PIN
Tips
- Use descriptive category names from your provider when setting allowlists. TVLok matches on the exact category names your playlist uses.
- PIN lockout activates after 3 failed attempts (30-second cooldown) to prevent guessing.
- Kid category settings sync across all your devices via cloud sync.
