IPTV Parental Controls: How to Set Up PIN Protection and Kid Profiles

Create kid-safe profiles with category allowlists and PIN protection. Block adult channels and restrict content by profile.

TVLok uses a Netflix-style profile system. Each profile can have its own PIN, and kid profiles only see content from categories you explicitly allow.

Creating a Kid Profile

From the Who is watching? screen, select Add profile. Enter a name, choose an avatar, and toggle Kids profile on.

Setting Allowed Categories

After creating the kid profile, go to Settings Parental Controls. Here you can select which channel categories the kid profile is allowed to see. Only channels from these categories will appear when the kid is signed in.

PIN-Protecting Adult Profiles

To prevent kids from switching to an adult profile, add a PIN. Go to Manage profiles, select an adult profile, and set a 4-6 digit PIN. The profile will show a lock icon on the picker screen.

What Kids See

  • Only channels from allowed categories in Live TV
  • Only movies and shows from allowed categories on Home
  • No access to Settings or Add Source
  • No ability to switch profiles without a PIN

Tips

  • Use descriptive category names from your provider when setting allowlists. TVLok matches on the exact category names your playlist uses.
  • PIN lockout activates after 3 failed attempts (30-second cooldown) to prevent guessing.
  • Kid category settings sync across all your devices via cloud sync.
